The John Locke Foundation will host Mike Long, President of Parents For Educational Freedom in NC, as Shaftesbury Society commemorates National School Choice Week. This presentation will feature a special introduction from Dr. Terry Stoops, the John Locke Foundation Vice President for Research and Director of Education Studies. Mike will then discuss the quest to empower families in North Carolina with the freedom to choose an education – public, private, charter, home-school, or virtual – that best meets the needs of their child. Traditional public schools enroll the majority of students in North Carolina, but in recent years, growth has been declining while non-traditional enrollment numbers have been growing rapidly.
