Water and wind and warming (Oh, my)

posted on

Raleigh is set to step up water restrictions next week. JLF Fiscal Policy Analyst Joe Coletti explained to WPTF Radio’s morning show that flexible water pricing would work better than mandatory restrictions in cutting water use. As Raleigh seeks changes in water use, North Carolina government’s mandated pursuit of alternative energy sources could lead to a new wind farm off the coast. That’s a prospect JLF Legal and Regulatory Policy Analyst Daren Bakst had predicted in a 2007 report on the state’s renewable energy legislation. He discussed the issue with Lockwood Phillips on WTKF’s “Viewpoints Radio” program. The renewable energy mandates Bakst critiques are linked to the state’s efforts to institute new climate change policies. Paul Chesser of Climate Strategies Watch continues to draw attention to the behind-the-scenes work from climate alarmists influencing policies in North Carolina and other states. Chesser wrote on the topic this week in the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, and he made radio appearances with KFKA in Greeley, Colo.; KTLK in Minneapolis; and WISN in Milwaukee.
