The Fayetteville Observer spotlighted the recent Statement of Principles on municipal annexation laws for North Carolina. Daren Bakst led JLF efforts to assemble a coalition of more than a dozen groups endorsing the statement. While annexation reformers hope to see changes in state law, North Carolina continues to feel the negative impacts from previous laws — including the targeted tax incentives used to bring businesses to North Carolina. The latest failure of incentives in the Global TransPark drew attention from WCTI Television, which interviewed Joe Coletti on the topic.
