The Tax Foundation highlighted this week the concerns John Locke Foundation Research Director and Local Government Analyst Michael Sanera has about taxpayer-funded subsidies and deep room discounts offered to lure business to the new Raleigh Convention Center. The Burlington Times-News also recently reprinted a News & Observer article noting JLF’s concerns about that convention center. In addition, the Mooresville Tribune picked up an op-ed from JLF Vice President for Development Chad Adams. He urges local governments to do a better job scrutinizing spending items.
