Taking Advantage of Federalism

Stalled by America’s decision to opt out of the Kyoto Protocol, eco-activists some time ago turned towards the states to seek redress. Bankrolled by anti-capitalist organizations and their non-profit daughter groups, these environmentalists gained access to decision makers who had the influence in state government to impose their agenda. Carolina Journal‘s Paul Chesser researched the money chain, connecting many state-based initiatives to reduce carbon-dioxide emissions to the Center for Climate Strategies.  The web of liberal entanglement was so dense and far-reaching that the story has simply exploded. Paul provided a fantastic overview of the issue for the Washington Times and on WBAL in Baltimore. From these sources, the Heartland Institute and National Review Online disseminated the severity of this discovered connection to states across the nation. It seems like the plan by eco-alarmists has been to nurture the seeds of change at the state level and, while these plants germinate, start pressing the issue at the national level once more lefties get into power.
