Complaining about the sudden tax burden brought about by infrequent property tax assessments, citizens turned to the Wake County commissioners. Commissioners appeased voters.  But the move has some still whining, as the reassessments may come without tax-rate abatement. John Hood supports the commissioners’ move. In trying to curb the growing power of unions, the JLF has joined a coalition supporting the requirement that a Washington teacher’s union ask permission before it uses dues to support political activities.
