Scandalous Updates

Super sleuth, Don Carrington, gave Lockwood Phillips of WTKF an update on the latest news in the ferryboat scandal and the campaign finance hearings
In the ferryboat scandal, Jerry Gaskill, director of the state Ferry
Division, resigned in the wake of federal charges.  And, of the
100 persons to be subpoenaed in the recent state elections board
hearing examining the campaign finances of Black and at least two
political action committees, two are of monumental interest: House
Speaker Jim Black and his former political aid, Meredith Norris.  In his Media Mangle, CJ’s Jon Ham weighs in on the dearth of US media attention on the freedom of press issue raised by the publication of cartoons in a Danish newspaper. The cartoons show how fundamentalist Islam has distorted the prophet Muhammad’s message. Ham’s piece has received over 10,000 hits on the CJ web page.
