Pundits across the political spectrum are trying to decide what the results of the Iowa caucuses and New Hampshire primaries mean for the 2008 presidential race. John Locke Foundation president John Hood urged National Review Online readers this week to avoid treating each state’s vote as a winner-take-all sporting contest. Meanwhile, JLF Vice President for Research Roy Cordato explained to the same national audience that only one Republican presidential candidate — John McCain — is co-sponsoring legislation that could lead to major taxes on American energy use. Cordato’s discussion of the McCain-Lieberman plan drew a response from the heart of Michigan primary territory, and he discussed his ideas with the nationally syndicated Lars Larson radio show.
