Parent-friendly schools report attracts attention

Most North Carolina public school systems earn lukewarm grades in the John Locke Foundation’s latest assessment of schools’ “parent-friendliness.” This week’s report attracted media attention for Education Policy Analyst Terry Stoops. The Charlotte Observer reported the D+ grade assigned to Charlotte-Mecklenburg schools. News 14 Carolina interviewed Stoops about the same topic, and WCNC Television mentioned the Charlotte-Mecklenburg grade in a brief report. The News & Observer‘s education blog noted Wake County’s C+ performance, prompting a brief follow-up report on WTVD Television.
