When it comes to ferreting out details of a government scandal, Carolina Journal Executive Editor Don Carrington is an expert. The Collegiate Network invited Carrington to speak about the tools of his investigative work during a program for college journalists tonight in Charlotte. (The Wake Weekly also published a recent story highlighting Carrington’s work in exposing a scandal involving ethanol plant permits.) Meanwhile, John Locke Foundation Vice President for Research and Resident Scholar Roy Cordato discussed the foundation, the network of state-based think tanks, and state issues such as price-gouging laws, smart gowth, and global warming in an appearance with Mike Beitler on Voice America Business Internet radio. In addition, the release of new state ABCs test scores for North Carolina public school students prompted the Durham Herald-Sun to seek an analysis from JLF Education Policy Analyst Terry Stoops.
