Former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich delivered the featured remarks at the John Locke Foundation’s 20th anniversary dinner Jan. 13 in Cary. Within two days of the speech, video of his presentation served as the featured element on the home page of Newt.org. In other news, the News & Observer published a letter from JLF Research Director and Local Government Analyst Michael Sanera critiquing Raleigh’s plans for a $205 million public safety center. Sanera also started work this week as a member of the Wake County Sustainability Task Force, a group scheduled to conduct monthly meetings for at least a year. Meanwhile, a News & Record columnist cited Piedmont Publius blogger Sam Hieb in a recent column about Greensboro’s new mayor.
