As the health-care reform debate continued to make national headlines this week, John Locke Foundation Fiscal and Health Care Policy Analyst Joseph Coletti took his consumer-driven health-care message on the road. Coletti spoke to the College Republicans at UNC-Chapel Hill and briefed the Lee County Republican Party. Research Director and Local Government Analyst Michael Sanera also logged road time this week, traveling to Siler City for a presentation to the group Financial Accountability for Chatham Taxpayers. Sanera discussed impact fees, school construction financing, and property taxes. Speaking of schools, the News & Observer published Sanera’s column offering advice to the newly elected Wake County School Board. In other school-related news, both the Tideland News and Topsail Voice reprinted a recent Carolina Beat column from Education Policy Analyst Terry Stoops. Stoops debunked myths about supposed benefits tied to lengthening the school day and school year.
