Not-so-smart growth

JLF researchers led by Research Director and local government analyst Michael Sanera have been watching closely as Jackson County leaders push new property rights restrictions. When Sanera learned recently that so-called “smart growth” supporters planned to present their one-sided case to public school students before an important vote, he panned the plan in a Smoky Mountain News opinion article. Sanera’s colleague, research intern Michael Moore, also discussed the topic in letters to both the Smoky Mountain News and the Sylva Herald
