On the other side of the political fence, former U.S. Sen. John Edwards is competing with current Sen. Barack Obama for the right to fight Sen. Hillary Clinton for the Democratic presidential nomination. Since both Edwards and Obama support policies that would increase government involvement in Americans’ lives, JLF Research Editor and Policy Analyst Jon Sanders used his platform with the widely read Townhall.com site to engage nationally syndicated radio talk show host Jerry Agar in a friendly wager over competing nanny-state proposals.
