Medicare ‘doc fix,’ minimum wage, state budget process, and other JLF research news

The News & Observer published a column co-authored by John Locke Foundation Health and Human Services Policy Analyst Katherine Restrepo on Congress’ need to find a permanent solution for the so-called Medicare “doc fix.” The Asheville Citizen-Times interviewed Restrepo about problems associated with proposed Medicaid expansion.

The Kernersville News published Vice President for Research and Resident Scholar Roy Cordato‘s latest column rebutting myths about the government-mandated minimum wage. The Laurinburg Exchange picked up Terry Stoops’ column about the role of poor K-12 education in the athletic scandal that now plagues the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. A Wilmington Star-News column on charter schools quotes Stoops’ research.

Watchdog.org cited Jon Sanders in an article about Carolina Panthers owner Jerry Richardson and his reliance on taxpayer incentives. The N.C. Spin website and N.C. Senate Republicans’ daily press email promoted Director of Fiscal Policy Studies Sarah Curry‘s column outlining the current stages of the state budget process.
