The Charlotte Observer, News & Observer, and Winston-Salem Journal all published a story in the past week probing Republican gubernatorial candidate Pat McCrory’s record on taxes during his years as Charlotte mayor. The article quotes John Locke Foundation Policy Analyst Michael Lowrey, who compiles the JLF By The Numbers report cited in the article. The Heritage Foundation’s “Insider Online” promoted Lowrey’s report on the benefits of “flex growth” policies.

N.C. Senate Republicans promoted in their daily press emails this week John Hood’s columns on Mitt Romney’s “47 percent” comment and on the political factors that block tax reform. The Senate GOP also highlighted Carolina Journal Associate Editor Barry Smith‘s article about Gov. Beverly Perdue’s potential use of campaign funds to help compile and publish her official papers, along with contributor Karen McMahan‘s profile of the N.C. Senate District 8 election.

Republican candidate Dan Forest promoted on his website Associate Editor Dan Way‘s CJ profile of the North Carolina lieutenant governor’s race. N.C. Senate Republicans also noted Way’s article.
