Big, beautiful, lavish, spacious schools are the key to ensuring the academic success of students. No, wait, that’s not right. Or is it?  Surely the combined wisdom of both the Wake County commission and the School Board couldn’t be wrong when they decided to ask voters for a bloated $970 million school construction bond in the next election?  By paring down the asking price to the bare necessities, Terry Stoops estimates that the county can access around $650 million without a tax increase. More trimming can be done, and any money raised from bonds, Terry recommends should go towards construction of classrooms and renovations to “ensure schools meet adequate health and safety standards.”  Following the praise bestowed upon Forsyth by Terry, Lindalyn Kakadelis went to the source to see first hand how their construction principles were being put to action.
