In the Political Muck, Reform’s Been Mired

The political fallout from the Geddings trial is just the beginning. As the money trail leads to pockets, we’re sure to run through a checklist of state leaders who, in turn, will be forced to take the stand to explain their involvement in a number of questionable acts. The shadow of accusation will inevitably fall on higher leadership.  But the General Assembly isn’t cluing in on the trend.  To date, they have yet to bring up new legislation on ethics reform.  To remind them of their dereliction of duty, the NC Coalition for Lobbying and Government Reform, of which the JLF is a part, held simultaneous press conferences in Asheville, Raleigh, Charlotte, and Wilmington. Chad Adams represented the JLF in Asheville, both in the news and on the radio with Matt Mittan, while John Hood talked with the media in Charlotte.
