Hood enlightens state, national audiences

posted on

John Locke Foundation President John Hood also hit the road recently for a presentation to the Moore County Republican Men’s Club on current political issues, as profiled in the Southern Pines Pilot. N.C. Senate Republicans highlighted in e-mails this week Hood’s Daily Journal columns on the state health plan’s multibillion-dollar unfunded liability and the prospects for bipartisan cooperation in addressing North Carolina’s prison overcrowding problem. The Kinston Free Press recently cited Hood in an editorial about former Gov. Mike Easley’s ongoing scandals. (For the impact of Easley’s problems on the current governor’s administration, despite its greater efforts at openness, see the John Hood column on this page.) Hood’s recent commentary on National Review Online’s blog, “The Corner,” has ended up republished on Web sites such as ConservativeBlogWatch.com, TopConservativeBlogs.com, LiberalWhoppers.com, World Actual News, and WBIR Television.
