Hood analyzes state, national issues

posted on

A recent analysis of state budget crises for National Affairs continues to generate media attention for John Locke Foundation President John Hood. The Washington Examiner‘s “Beltway Confidential” blog and RealClearPolitics.com promoted Hood’s article, while the New Orleans Times-Picayune quoted from it. The Mercatus Center’s “Neighborhood Effects” blog also highlighted Hood’s work. The News & Observer interviewed Hood for a pair of articles appearing in this morning’s newspaper. One focused on Gov. Beverly Perdue’s decision to oppose privatization of government-run liquor sales. The other covered Republican efforts to help financially troubled Wake County school board member John Tedesco. N.C. Senate Republicans’ press clip e-mail, the Gaston County GOP, and the M2M Politics blog all promoted Hood’s column this week offering an open letter to legislative Democrats. A Winston-Salem Journal letter writer cited another column from Hood explaining that North Carolina government costs too much. Hood also earned radio air time this week: He appeared with Henry Hinton on WTIB Thursday morning, and he’ll serve as guest host for Bill LuMaye today on WPTF’s afternoon program. The Liberty Point blog cited Hood’s work this week on redistricting reform.
