He Loves His Sox

posted on

Last year at this time, Paul Chesser was commiserating about his beloved but cursed Boston Red Sox on WPTF’s “The Jerry Agar Show,” alongside a diehard Cubs fan that knew exactly what Chesser was going through. But this year the sun is shining on Boston and Chesser poured out his love for the Red Sox on the op-ed page of The Raleigh News & Observer, taking a playful shot at the Triangle’s allegiance to college sports. “So come on, admit it, “ he wrote. Transplant or native, Carolinians got sucked into the drama. You watched, didn’t you? Carolina/State/Duke is great. But you really know, deep in your hearts, that Red Sox-Yankees is better, now more than ever. Just admit it – it’s OK.” Anybody willing to guess what the Chesser family will be doing Saturday night?
