Former U.S. Congressman’s Send-off

Carolina Journal‘s, Don Carrington, after securing an
invitation to former U.S. Congressman Frank W. Ballance Jr.’s final
farewell before serving a four-year federal prison term for mail fraud
and money laundering, was thrown-out of the party at the request of
Ballance. Press coverage of the “People’s Freedom Rally,” the name
given to the event by its sponsors, outlined the history behind Ballance’s fall from power and his continued belief in his innocence, despite his guilty plea in Federal Court. On the Bill LuMaye show, Carrington told listeners about his experience.
