When the Sanford Herald reported this week Lee County Schools’ proposals to add administrative staff, a newspaper editorial highlighted research from John Locke Foundation Education Policy Analyst Terry Stoops. Stoops demonstrated that growth in administrative staff has outpaced student population growth in school systems across North Carolina in recent years. Meanwhile, Cape Fear Business News published Stoops’ column debunking myths about the benefits of a longer school day and longer school year.
