A recent N.C. Senate vote could help dismantle the state’s Racial Justice Act, which allows death row inmates to use statistics about jury composition to help them escape capital punishment. Carolina Journal Associate Editor Sara Burrowsarticle on the Senate vote attracted attention from the Beaufort Observer, N.C. Senate Republicans, and Court.us. Senate Republicans also promoted Executive Editor Don Carrington‘s report on the “support groups” tied to the most recently indicted figures in Gov. Beverly Perdue’s 2008 campaign scandal, along with contributor Dan Way‘s report on efforts to revive a medical marijuana bill in the N.C. House.
