The General Assembly’s return to work means more opportunities for recognition of Carolina Journal‘s legislative coverage. The Lincoln Tribune published Associate Editor Anthony Greco‘s CarolinaJournal.tv report on a legislative meeting linked to targeted tax incentives for Dell. The N.C. Free Enterprise Foundation promoted Greco’s article on a new legal defense fund associated with a defamation lawsuit targeting former N.C. Sen. A.B. Swindell, D-Nash. N.C. Senate Republicans’ daily press clipping e-mails also highlighted Greco’s report, along with Associate Editor Sara Burrowsarticle on new legislative bills linked to property-rights issues and Associate Editor David Bassexclusive on U.S. Rep. Heath Shuler’s support for legislation to block ObamaCare from funding abortions. Watchdog.org also promoted the Shuler story. NC Rumors highlighted Bass’ report on new Senate President Pro Tem Phil Berger’s legislative priorities. CJ Publisher Jon Ham developed a new slide show capability for CarolinaJournal.com that showcased photos from the first day of the new legislative session. NC Rumors highlighted those photos. The Heartland Institute’s Budget & Tax News republished contributor Karen Welsh‘s article about the impact of government subsidies in driving a private bus operator out of business.
