The nationally known Instapundit website promoted this week the work of Carolina Journal Publisher Jon Ham, highlighting his Right Angles blog entry on the “flounder defense.” When the new General Assembly starts work later this month, at least one Republican legislator hopes his colleagues will take time to craft good rules of operation. CJ Associate Editor Sara Burrowsarticle on the topic attracted attention from the Lincoln Tribune, which also published Burrows’ exclusive on a forced annexation dispute involving Lexington. The Lincoln Tribune ran Associate Editor David Bassarticle on the latest developments linked to a lawsuit challenging taxpayer incentives for the Johnson & Wales culinary school. The Lincoln Tribune promoted three stories in the past week from Associate Editor Anthony Greco. He covered a new report on North Carolina’s unfunded debt obligations, state efforts to clear up a backlog of tax refunds, and new legislators’ plans to take the oath of office in hometown ceremonies. The Tar Heel Tribune published the story on legislators’ local oaths of office as well. The Crystal Coast Tea Party website picked up contributor Jim Stegall‘s article on Tea Party activists who have turned their attention to charter schools.
