The Web site Carolina Politics Online took note in the past week of a couple of investigative stories Carolina Journal Executive Editor Don Carrington has pursued. The first focused on an unusual real-estate transaction involving N.C. Secretary of Cultural Resources Libba Evans. The second focused on the taxpayer-funded air travel of Gov. Mike Easley and his wife Mary. Speaking of taxpayer-funded air travel, the Raleigh Telegram cited CJ‘s work in an article about the state’s recent decision to cancel an order for a new $9 million Cessna Citation.
