Carolina Journal Investigations Lead to Indictments

posted on

Since early 2004, Carolina Journal‘s Don Carrington, in a series of articles, has tracked the illegal dredging of the Currituck Sound.
His reporting on the story helped lead to the indictment of four state
Ferry Division employees.  This week, a federal grand jury in
Raleigh indicted N.C. Department of Transportation Ferry Division Director Jerry Gaskill.
Because of Carrington’s extensive investigation, WPTF’s Bill LuMaye and
Lockwood Phillips invited him to speak about the issue on their
respective talkradio shows.
