George Leef, writing for the Foundation for Economic Education, reviews the book, Libertarianism: For and Against, co-authored by Professors Tibor Machan and Craig Duncan. At root, George finds that “most of the time the problems they [nonlibertarians] want to eliminate are real, but have their roots not in freedom, but rather in existing laws and policies that benefit a few at the expense of the many.” Writing for The Journal of East Tennessee History, Troy Kickler reviews the book Slavery and American Economic Development, by Gavin Wright. He finds the work a bit economically tedious, not for the feint of mind. Taming the pen to release the voice, Troy will be doing an ambitious lecture on the importance of history, on Wednesday, Sept. 5 at 7:30 at Belmont Abbey College.
