Biography

Tom Campbell is the owner of Carolina Broadcasting and Publishing Company, a production and publishing company that, for more than 19 years, has produced a statewide weekly TV talk show and two radio shows. The company’s mission is to inform, form, and transform people.

Tom is the creator, producer, and moderator of the weekly television talk show, NC SPIN that is syndicated in every television market in North Carolina. Airing 28 times per week, NC SPIN reaches over 100,000 viewers each week. NC SPIN gives Tom the opportunity to enjoy two of his passions – politics and broadcasting.  He writes a weekly column that is published in newspapers across the state.

Tom served as Assistant Treasurer for the State of North Carolina under the late Harlan Boyles and said this experience gave him a broad education and understanding of state government. He co-founded The Family Business Institute; a consulting firm based in Raleigh, and co-authored the book, You Don’t Have to Die to Win – Success and Succession for Family Businesses. He also authored, Tom’s Columns: Musings of a Moderate NC Talk Show Moderator, a compilation of columns he has written over several years.

In 2011, Tom was inducted into the North Carolina Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame. In 2017 he was inducted to the Order of the Henry Clay Oak, for service to North Carolina. Tom has been married for 52 years to his Methodist pastor wife, Lib, and has two children and four grandchildren.
