Biography

Christine Mele is a retired physical education teacher and varsity volleyball coach. She received her BS degree from SUNY Cortland, and her MS degree from Adelphi University.

Chris is a former co-owner of Advance Sound Company, which she operated with her late husband, Joel, of Advance Sound Company for 24 years. For the past 22 years, she has lived in Oriental, NC. She recently sold her local business, Pamilco Tower Leasing.

Chris has been involved in many civic groups and actives. She is a former County Commissioner in Pamlico County. She has served on the Pamlico Board of Health. She is currently a member of the Pamlico Senior Citizens Advisory Committee; the Cherry Point Civilian Military/Civilian Advisory Committee, the N.C. Association of County Commissioners Environmental Steering Committee, the Pamlico, the North Carolina Clean Water Management Trust Fund Board of Trustees, the Pamlico Community Band, the Craven Community Band, and the Carven Brass Quintet.
