Shaftesbury Society Presentation

Most economists are optimistic about the future — predicting a continued rise in standards of living — because they expect technology to improve due to the abundant incentives to innovate. However, others are less sanguine, fearing that we’ve already made the easy discoveries and cautioning that excessive regulation and festering cultural problems will stifle growth. In this presentation, Professor Robert Whaples will engage these issues, which are raised in the recent collection, Future: Economic Peril or Prosperity.
Here is his full presentation from 1/16/2017.
