As a component of federal tax reform, the U.S. House of Representatives has proposed implementing a Border Adjustment Tax (BAT) on the importation of goods into the United States. What does the BAT Tax mean to retailers and what does it mean to the average citizen? Andy Ellen of the North Carolina Retail Merchants Association will explain in this presentation. Additionally, the retail industry is rapidly changing. What external and internal forces are affecting the industry that is the largest private employer in North Carolina? Andy will discuss the challenges facing retailers.
