“Still & Barrel: Craft Spirits in the Old North State”

  May 22, 2017, 12:00 PM-1:00 PM

John Locke Foundation, 200 W. Morgan Street, 2nd Floor, Raleigh, North Carolina 27601

Distilleries in North Carolina are thriving, despite a labyrinth of Prohibition-era rules and regulations. And through it all, distillers in the Old North State have persevered, and they’re starting to thrive. In this presentation, John Trump – the author of “Still & Barrel” – will trace the history of manufacturing moonshine whiskey, gin, vodka, and rum. He’ll also talk about the almost 50 distilleries that are now in business, making rum, red-wheat organic whiskey, and sweet potato vodka, among many others.

Here is the video from the event.
