Are the Midterm Elections a Referendum on President Trump and the GOP?

  April 2, 2018, 12:00 PM-1:00 PM

John Locke Foundation, 200 W. Morgan Street, 2nd Floor, Raleigh, North Carolina 27601

Conventional wisdom and the media narrative say a national “blue wave” is on the horizon this fall in reaction to President Trump and Republicans. In this presentation, veteran political analyst Marc Rotterman will survey the national political landscape and what national trends could mean for North Carolina elections as well. He’ll analyze key questions, including whether there is a trend in special elections, if Democrats are fielding candidates that fit the district, levels of enthusiasm on both sides of the aisle, what a Democrat-controlled U.S. Congress would mean to President Trump’s agenda, hot North Carolina congressional races, and prospects for Republican pickups in the U.S. Senate.
