In September 2015, Chief Justice Mark Martin convened the North Carolina Commission on the Administration of Law and Justice. This independent, multidisciplinary commission was tasked with exploring ways to strengthen our unified court system. The commission released its final report in March 2017 after 15 months of research, discussion, and significant public input. The commission’s recommendations will serve as a roadmap as Chief Justice Martin and the Administrative Office of the Courts continue their work to ensure that our state judiciary meets the 21st century needs of all North Carolinians. In this presentation, Chief Justice Martin will discuss key components of the report.
